EMDR Therapy intensives will last longer depending on what the client agrees on and the nature of the treatment.
-
Do I need therapy, or am I just burned out?
Description goes hereShort answer: it can be both.
Burnout comes from prolonged stress and over-responsibility. Therapy is helpful when rest alone doesn’t fix it—or when burnout keeps returning. You might benefit from therapy if you feel emotionally exhausted, anxious or low despite “doing everything right,” stuck in people-pleasing or over-functioning, or unable to truly rest.
Many people discover their burnout is tied to chronic stress, unmet emotional needs, or survival patterns learned over time. Therapy helps you understand what your nervous system needs and create change—without waiting for a breakdown.
You don’t need to be in crisis to start. Feeling worn down is reason enough.
-
What happens during the first therapy session?
The first session focuses on understanding what brought you in, your goals, and helping you feel comfortable. There’s no pressure to share everything—this is a low-pressure conversation to see if it feels like a good fit.
-
What kind of therapist should I look for?
Look for a licensed therapist experienced with your concerns (anxiety, trauma, burnout) and who uses approaches that fit your needs. Feeling safe, understood, and respected matters just as much as credentials.
-
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy may be right if stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm are affecting your quality of life. You don’t need to be in crisis—many people start therapy to gain clarity, balance, and support.
