This might sound familiar:
You’ve broken barriers—now you’re figuring out how to feel whole.
You’re proud of how far you’ve come, but part of you still feels like you don’t fully belong anywhere.
You carry unspoken pressure to represent your community—and to never mess up.
Burnout shows up quietly: in your body, your relationships, your sense of joy.
You wonder who you are outside of achievement, productivity, or being “the first.”
You’ve worked hard to succeed in spaces that weren’t built with you in mind.
You’re used to pushing through, even when you’re exhausted or overwhelmed.
You’ve learned resilience out of necessity, not choice—and you’re ready for softness too.
Success has brought opportunity—and also guilt, distance, and complicated feelings about home.
You feel pressure to honor your family’s sacrifices while also wanting a life that’s truly yours.
You’re tired of code-switching, shrinking, or explaining yourself just to feel safe or understood.
Culturally Competent and Collaborative Care
Hey! I’m Taiwo.
I am a licenced trauma therapist in NY and NJ and the founder of Farada Mental Health.
Farada is the Yoruba, one of the many languages spoken in Nigeria, word for persevere, meaning, to endure. It's a word used to express perseverance, resilience. This term, inadvertently, has become my life’s motto as someone motto as someone who has had to keep going despite the odds stacked against her.
I founded Farada Mental Health people like you can have space where you, the client, are at the center of your healing. Your voice, your truth, and your resilience guide this process. I am not here to simply observe—I am here to walk beside you as we untangle the deep-rooted patterns that have kept you stuck. Whether you’re working through generational trauma, sexual trauma, childhood wounds, or a life filled with unspoken pain, this is not just a space to talk through your struggles—it’s a space to reclaim your power.
When it comes to therapy and healing, many times we don’t just need coping skills for short-term solutions. Lasting change happens through persevering, learning to confront your pain, rather than disowning it. Farada Mental Health centers on the ability to endure and keep going, despite the circumstances, trials, or tribulations that life will inevitably present to you.
Mission: Break the Cycle of Generational Trauma
At Farada Mental Health, we empower BIPOC professionals and first-generation achievers to overcome challenges with resilience. We offer culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy honoring identity and experience. Believing healing is personal and collective, we create spaces for balance, boundaries, and authentic thriving. “Farada” means to persevere—embracing strength in every healing journey.
Therapy is about transformation, not just coping. Healing trauma, childhood wounds, anxiety, and depression requires time, courage, and commitment. It means facing your pain instead of avoiding it. Here, you'll challenge negative beliefs, rewrite unhelpful narratives, and move toward a future where you feel whole, empowered, and free.If you’re ready to do the deep work of healing, I’m here to support you—every step of the way. I invite you to take the first step toward the life you deserve.
