About Me 🪷🪷

If you’re a high-achieving, multicultural or first-generation adult who looks “put together” on the outside but feels exhausted, overwhelmed, or quietly stuck on the inside—you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to keep carrying everything by yourself.

Many of the clients I work with are used to being the strong one. You may be juggling career pressure, family expectations, cultural obligations, and an internal voice that says rest has to be earned. Burnout, anxiety, low mood, or emotional numbness might be showing up, even though you’ve done “everything right.” Therapy hasn’t always felt like it was made for you—or safe enough to really let your guard down.

My work is centered on helping you slow things down, reconnect with yourself, and heal in a way that honors both your story and your ambition.

How I Help

I specialize in supporting multicultural and first-generation adults navigating:

  • Chronic burnout and over-functioning

  • Anxiety and constant mental overdrive

  • Depression or emotional heaviness that’s hard to explain

  • Trauma—both obvious and subtle, including cultural and generational trauma

  • Feeling stuck despite being capable, driven, and self-aware

Using EMDR, somatic experiencing, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ACT and other evidence-based, holistic approaches, we work not just at the level of thoughts, but at the level of the nervous system. That means we pay attention to how stress, trauma, and pressure live in your body—not just your mind.

Therapy with me isn’t about pushing harder or “fixing” you. It’s about:

  • Understanding your symptoms as adaptive responses, not personal failures

  • Reducing shame and self-blame

  • Building emotional regulation and self-trust

  • Creating sustainable change that doesn’t cost you your health or identity

Our work is collaborative, paced with care, and grounded in safety. You set the tone—we move at a speed that feels supportive, not overwhelming.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I’m a trauma-focused therapist licensed in New York and New Jersey (LMHC-D, LPC), board certified as a National Certified Counselor, and EMDRIA trained in EMDR with a specialization in Somatic EMDR. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology with minors in African American Studies and Public Health from Syracuse University, and my master’s in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Brooklyn College.

But beyond credentials, this work is deeply personal.

As a BIPOC, first-generation young adult, I understand how systemic barriers, cultural expectations, and survival-mode living can make healing feel inaccessible—or even indulgent. I know what it’s like to carry generational dreams while navigating spaces that weren’t built with you in mind.

Farada Mental Health was created from a vision: to make high-quality, trauma-informed care feel reachable, relevant, and affirming for people who are often told to just “be resilient.”

What It’s Like to

Work With Me

Clients often describe our sessions as grounding, validating, and honest. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a down-to-earth style into the room. I’ll meet you with compassion and clarity—holding space while also helping you make sense of patterns, boundaries, and next steps.

I believe therapy should feel human. You don’t need perfect words, a polished narrative, or a crisis to be here. Just a willingness to show up as you are.

A Little More About Me

Outside of therapy, I value rest, laughter, and meaningful connection. I am disciple of God and that His word had been an foundational part of my life-especially as a therapist. I’m someone who appreciates thoughtful conversations, and the ongoing practice of choosing softness without losing strength. I believe healing can coexist with ambition—and that you don’t have to burn yourself out to prove your worth.

If you’re looking for a therapist who understands the intersection of culture, trauma, and high expectations—and who will walk alongside you with care and intention—I’d be honored to support you.

You deserve a space where you can exhale, heal, and grow—without having to perform.
